In this exciting Gamer Adventures camp, students will learn the fundamentals of game design by exploring programming basics, digital art, and level design to create an original video game from the ground up. Using a game engine with integrated art tools and an easy-to-use system, campers will build worlds, design characters, and bring their ideas to life while developing essential problem-solving and creative-thinking skills.
This camp also introduces key game design concepts, teaching students what to consider when making a fun, complete, and shareable game such as game mechanics, player experience, art style, storytelling, and working within a realistic scope. Through guided discussions, hands-on activities, and computer-based creation time, campers will learn how to plan, build, test, and improve their projects from beginning to end. Campers will have opportunities to share their work with classmates, exchange ideas, and leave with a digital copy of their game and account information so they can continue creating at home and sharing with friends and family.
Bring a snack, lunch and drink.
